Dr Vaseegaran (Rajinikanth) and his android assistant Nila (Amy Jackson) are called in for help after mobiles start mysteriously flying out of the hands of people in Chennai. Vaseegaran summons his trusted robot Chitti (Rajinikanth) to ward off the bird-shaped supernatural powers of Pakshirajan (Akshay Kumar).

Dr. Vaseegaran (Rajinikanth), a scientist specialized in robotics, creates a sophisticated android robot (Rajinikanth) in his own likeness after a decade of intensive research, for commissioning into the Indian army. Vaseegaran explains to his assistants Siva (Santhanam) and Ravi (Karunas) that the android must first be observed for its interaction with humans. His mother (Revathi Sankaran) suggests naming it Chitti.

Alex (C. Arunpandian) and Sivagami (Raadhika Sarathkumar) are honest police officers who are charged to catch the terrorist Jupiter (Naga Kannan). While Murugan is a poor car mechanic living with his mother and beloved sister Meenakshi. Jupiter kills Alex and his family. Soon, Alex is resurrected as a cyborg by scientists.
