-[ About ]-
The Cyberpunk Database was launched in 2014, not too long after the demise of
cyberpunkreview.com, which was one of the leading sites back in the days for fans of the Cyberpunk genre that did reviews on Cyberpunk content and had an active forum of which I was an active member of. Initially, the site was known as The Cyberpunk Movies Database (on domain cyberpunkmovies.net) and covered movies only as this is the main media I use to consume Cyberpunk content. After repeated requests from people to expand the DB beyond only indexing movies, I decided to also add books, games and music and renamed the site to just The Cyberpunk Database. After experimenting with different designs, the site got its big and final redesign in 2016 with the aim to be as easy as possible to navigate. Since its inception in 2014, it has been continously updated and maintained so this is the reason why the DBs are on the larger side. I hope to continue this work for many, many more years to come and hope people enjoy discovering new or old Cyberpunk content and have a pleasant stay on the site. :)
The site indexes proto-, cyberpunk, and post-cyberpunk content. Due to sometimes high overlap, you may find content that also fits in one or more of the
Cyberpunk derivatives like Biopunk or Steampunk. Such examples are the movies
Immortal (Ad Vitam) and
Replicas, both of which are also very Biopunk. Since I'm not a Cyberpunk die-hard or purist and in my opinion Cyberpunk is a spectrum, you will find such content in the databases. Enjoy your stay! :)
