In this text the author attempts to bring a clear picture of what falls within this genre. What visual symbolism matches the cyberpunk genre? Which works are classics? After this the author points to connections between cyberpunk and Japan. Why is Japan such a benificial environment? There is also a brief look at postmodernism to expose some of the deeper layers of cyberpunk. The author brings all this together by zooming in on the Ghost in the Shell movie.
