A young Japanese hacker from Tokyo named Naomi moves to New York, but then has to return for an experimental eye operation. She becomes friends with an attractive office lady called Izumi, and together they take Tokyo by storm. This does not last long and she finds herself resorting to old ways and starts illegally hacking. She is quickly swept up into a world she knows nothing of, a world of fear and crime, as one determined Hikikomori targets her, forcing her along a dangerous path, which puts herself, her family and her new best friend at grave risk.

Magdalena Welling (Amy Shelton-White) wasn't always a recluse, living in an abandoned warehouse, surrounded by outdated computers, archaic medical equipment, and responsibilities almost too great to bear. She was once a successful surgeon; her husband Arthur (Sanjiban), a brilliant scientist. But now, they exist in a world of emptiness and solitude, continuing the radical artificial intelligence research that Arthur had started a lifetime before. Before the accident. Now, after four years of ceaseless work, they've made a breakthrough, a discovery so great that it could change the face of science. But it will also require a sacrifice so great, that Magdalena's world will never be the same.

It takes place in 2031 in Los Angeles following the escape of a dangerous inmate from the fictitious Red Rock Prison on Mars.

In a post holocaust society, robots take it on their own to help the dying human race by giving them android bodies.
